Update on recently seen movies

Posted by austinburns on March 15, 2006

Cache – French film about a family who gets mysterious video tapes on their doorstep which are apparantly video images of their house. Hours worth. The movie is all about who is doing this and why. Creepy and unsettling. Also has one of the most graphic death sequences I've ever seen. It comes out of nowhere.

Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story – A movie about the "unfilmable" novel, The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, written in the 1700's. Basically, it's a movie about the making of the movie based on this book. Kind of like Adaptation, but British. Pretty funny and an interesting look into filmmaking.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest – Classic Jack Nicholson film which I had never seen before. Awesome movie about what goes on inside insane asylums. Jack plays a guy sent to the asylum, but he tries to thwart his treatment any way he can. He also leads his ward-mates into spurts of rebellion.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire – I continue to be impressed by the Harry Potter series. I still have yet to read a word of the books, but the movies have been getting better and better.
